Philip Quince, President
Phil hails from Gloucester, Mass. He moved to Americana Cove in 2012. He holds a BSME and an MBA, and was formerly a director in the semiconductor equipment & x-ray security equipment industries. Phil’s term expires in January 2026.
Gary Schamburg, Vice President
Gary served as the Community Association Manager for MAROA/Americana Cove from 2021 to 2022. (2/21 – 10/22); as a MAROA board member prior to that from 2017 to 2020. He retired after career in military service, working in strategic and operational planning, communications, analyzing and resolving problems, and developing and instituting needed procedures and responses. Gary’s term expires in January 2027.
Linda Howe, Secretary
Born overseas to a military family, Linda moved frequently. St. Petersburg became her permanent home when she was a teenager. She served in the US Marine Corps for 15 years and retired as an engineering technician for the Navy. She moved to the Cove in 2020 and enjoys traveling in with her RV. Linda’s term expires in January 2027.
George Paige, Treasurer
George grew up from Milford, Conn., and purchased a home in the Cove in 2016. He holds an MBA in supply chain management from Arizona State University and a BA in business and computer information systems from Saint Leo (Florida) University. He served on the board of the Village of San Marcos Homeowners Association in Chandler, Arizona, from 2015 to 2019. George’s term expires in January 2026.
William (Bill) Moretti, Director
Brien Gibney, Director
Brien moved to the Cove initially in 2018 and permanently in January 2022. Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, he went to grade school, high school, and his freshman year of college in California before moving back to Canada to finish his bachelor’s degree. After college he joined the US Navy and served for more than 20 years, during which he finished his master’s degree in emergency management and disaster preparedness. When he retired from the Navy he worked for the US Office of Personnel Management until his retirement in 2021. Brien’s term expires in January 2025.
Kathy Laramee, Director
Kathy moved to the Cove from Newburgh, NY, in 2011. Prior to that she and her husband were snowbirds for 7 years, living part-time in their RV at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa. She worked in a variety of positions over the years and was at one point a federal contractor for family support in an Air National Guard base. She is active in several clubs in the community and can be heard singing here and at Holy Family Church, down the street. Kathy’s term expires in January 2027.
Charles (Chuck) Pugh, Director
Chuck was born at now-defunct Bayonne Navy Base in New York Harbor and grew up in the city. He came to the Tampa Bay area in the late 1970s with his family, moved to northeast St. Petersburg in the mid-80s, and finally to the Cove in 2023. He retired in 2018 after 25 years with Alsco Linen, where he served as a union steward. He enjoys boating, fishing, and traveling. Chuck’s term expires in 2027.
Kathy Wichmann, Director
Kathy moved to the Cove from Waseca, Minn., in 2019. Previously she worked for the Waseca public school system, was a financial advisor, and also owned a business. She served on the Waseca City Council and on many community boards, along with volunteering as a leader in her church. Kathy’s term expires in January 2027.
